Leadership

Booky Oren has over 35 years of experience in different senior managerial roles, in the private and public sectors. At the beginning of the millennium, he transited from Hi-Tech and joined the Water Industry, holding senior roles such as Executive Chairman of Mekorot, Israel’s National Water Company (initiated and implemented WaTech – Center for Initiatives and Research, leveraging Mekorot’s 3,000 facilities as Beta sites for external innovation), as well as Co-Founder and Executive Chairman of Miya, a world-leading efficiency-oriented water operator.
In 2011, Booky established Booky Oren Global Water Technologies (BOGWT) to address the challenge of “i2i” (innovation to implementation). BOGWT leverages the combination of accumulated experience and expertise with public utilities and technology providers.
In 2020, BOGWT established the K2i (Knowledge to implementation) Platform. This platform focuses on a structured process enabling global leading agencies to share their best practices. The K2i’s unique digital portal, using an AI assistant which is trained on knowledge shared by K2i utilities only, holds over 300 analyzed utility knowledge exchange activities, easily accessible by every employee of a K2i member agency. This allows the K2i members to receive value from every interaction across the global platform, without the need to attend every exchange, and grants immediate access to global knowledge while ensuring that no commercial interests compromise the integrity of the information. The K2i ensures continuous improvement of utility performance and saves time and financial resources for agencies by enabling them to learn from each other’s experience and avoid “Re-inventing the Wheel”.
